We are in need of books for Pleasant Valley Elementary School's library!

With Common Core standards focusing on a 50/50 approach to fiction and non-fiction books, we would like to upgrade our non-fiction section to include books with lower reading levels for our younger readers. We are in need of books that present a higher text complexity to create a more challenging reading environment. Higher text-complex books help develop comprehension and critical thinking skills for our students to be college and career ready. These reading practices must begin at an early age. Money from this fundraiser will be dedicated to purchasing new non-fiction books geared towards the lower grades. With a project budget of $5000, we would be able to purchase around 250 to 300 new much-needed books for our library. With the average cost of a new book around twenty dollars, any funds raised will help contribute to our library's budget. Thank you.
