FYRE robotics is a community high school team with members from Carson High, Davidson Academy, Galena High and Reno High. We are raising funds to build a robot that is approximately 2'x3'x5' to compete in a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) FRC robotics competition in Las Vegas in March.
The robot itself has a maximum cost limit of $4000, however, we also need to pay $6000 for registration, as well as approximately $10,000 for travel, food and hotels during the 3 day competition. If we are successful there, we will advance to the World Competition in April in St. Louis! The total funds needed for the entire season, to build and travel is approximately $20,000.
If we do not make our goal, we will use these funds to help build our robot, as well as to do more fundraising to finish off our goal. If that is not possible, we will donate the money to outreach for younger students interested in STEM.
